Growing up in the lush landscapes of Sri Lanka, I was surrounded by the natural beauty and vibrant fragrances of the island. From the warm, rich scent of blooming jasmine to the crisp, earthy aroma of tropical rain, nature was woven into the fabric of my everyday life. The unique blend of these scents brought comfort and unforgettable memories, painting my childhood with the essence of home.

Life in Sri Lanka also meant learning to adapt to moments when electricity was scarce, and the comforting glow of a candle was our guide through the darkness. Candlelight became a symbol of resilience, illuminating our nights and bringing a sense of peace and connection during those times. It taught me the power of simple light to brighten even the most challenging days.

As I moved away and life took me on different paths, the longing for that familiar connection to nature and home only deepened. The idea of Serene Pahan was born out of this nostalgia and my dream of recreating that sense of warmth and belonging through candlelight. Each candle I craft is infused with the fragrances that remind me of Sri Lanka’s natural bounty and the tranquil moments it inspired.

In Sinhalese, “Pahan” means “lamp” or “light,” symbolizing hope and illumination.
